Getting ready for Chirstmas

In preparation for Christmas our family has been starting new tradition.  Micah and Savannah are at the perfect age where they love imagination, music and routine. Our Christmas fun started the week after Thanksgiving when "Buddy the Elf" cam to visit us.  Buddy sleep on the twins' changing table.  As soon as they fall asleep Buddy goes to the North Pole to report to Santa, and then be hides somewhere in the house.  The twins love looking for Buddy each morning.  As soon as we all wake up Savannah will exciting say, "Find Buddy?"

Before we put up our Christmas Tree, the twins and I were busy making Christmas ornaments.  Together we made felt trees with lots of buttons, jewels, and puffs on it.  We also added bells on pipe-cleaners which made and interesting ornament. On Leif's day off we put up our Christmas tree and let the kids decorate. They loved it! And they continue to rearrange their homemade ornament every day.  Micah is enchanted by the Christmas tree lights. Each morning the first words out of his mouth are, "lights on."

On December 1st two different advent calendars were added to our list of traditions. One has a picture of Santa with 25 windows.  Each window has a chocolate treat in it.  The other is a green and red paper chain.  Each chain has a written song, Scripture or event written down.  Every morning after we find biddy and lights on the twins run to their advent calendars.  We count the window and eat our chocolate treat. Then we tear off a chain and accomplish the assisted task.  These are great mornings!!!!
