A Great Evening

It's Thursday night.  Leif is gone and working all night at the hospital.  It's almost 7:00p.m. and I know that I should start getting the kids ready for bed.  I'm tired.  Eli wants to nurse.  The house is a mess.  Dinner is sitting on the table.  Dishes are not done.

Savannah is finishing eating cheese slices for dinner.

Micah is eating "red soup" with crackers.

So I sit down on the couch to feed Eli.

He drinks for 30 seconds then unlatches to smile at me.  Again he drinks for a few seconds then wants to smile and talk to me.  So I start talking back and enjoy my newborn.

I get lost in the moment with Eli then realize that my twins have cleared the table and put their dishes in the sink.

Micah is now playing with his cars.  They are in a circle on the kitchen floor.  Under the sink has now become a parking lot for his cars. All I hear is car noises coming out of his mouth.

Savannah walks to the back door and says, "Mom it's dark outside...it's night time.... let's go to bed!"

I am overcome with love for my 3 children.

I smile and yell out, "I love you guys!"

It's quite.  Micah looks at me.  Eli smiles.  Savannah says, "Mommy, you love me!"

Yes, I love my kids.  I love these small and simple moments I get with them.

Things Savannah Has Said

I just got done telling Savannah that we are going to take a family vacation to Savannah, Georgia where we will stay in a hotel.

Savannah then replied, "Then we will go to Micah and stay in hotel?"
*****************************************************************

I was explaining to Micah that he needed to wear his seatbelt so he wouldn't die.

Savannah interrupted by saying, "He will then come back alive because of Jesus."
********************************************************************

I picked Savannah up from Sunbeams and her teachers told me that she didn't talk during the WHOLE class period.  I asked Savannah about it in the car.

Savannah replied, "I was shy today."
******************************************************************

Savannah & Micah were in the bath.  I had Eli ready to get in the tub with them as one of the twins normally holds Eli while I wash him.  So I say, "Savannah are you ready to hold Eli?"

Savannah answers, "No Mom I busy right now."

She was just playing with her ducks!!  But after she organized her ducks on the soap holder she turns to me and says, "OK I'm not busy anymore."
**************************************************************************

We are getting ready to go to cub scouts and out of the blue Savannah says, "Mommy I like William."

William is one of our 9 year old scouts!!  Not this soon!!!!
*******************************************************************

We are ready a book on space where it talks about gravity.  Savannah is quite and you can tell she is thinking.  She then looks up at me and asks, "Is their gravity in Idaho?"
******************************************************************

We are at Costco and standing in line for pictures.  There are huge TV's behind us with skiers who are skiing down the slops.  Savannah gets excited and says, "Look Mom, it's Idaho!"
****************************************************************

Savannah is holding Eli in the tub.  Eli is facing her so I can wash his back.  Eli starts to suck Savannah's arm.  She looks at Eli and says to him, "Eli, I don't have any milk!"
*********************************************************************

Micah is telling Savannah that she is a princess.  She gets all upset and responds back, "I is nothing!"

************************************************************************

We are eating dinner.  I give the kids some chicken soup.  Savannah takes a bite.
I ask, "Is it hot or cold?"
Her replay, "It's warm Mommy, so I can eat it."

love

I am in love with 3 men or should I say boys.

Valentines Day

Valentine's Day came to quickly this year .  We celebrated it on February 13 (since Leif had the day off).  We had our Mom's Pre-school that morning and made it full of Valentines.  Each of the students made valentines for each other.  It was really cute seeing the twins pass out their cookies and butterflies.  All the moms then cut out 100 harts and we had the kids decorate them.   With the decorated hearts we walked over the an Assisted Living Center and passed them out to the residents.  Micah and Savannah were soooo cute.  They told each resident "Happy Valentines"  and everyone loved our kids.  I love doing serviceable activities with the twins.  We also make cookies for our neighbors and passed them out.

We then came home and ate a "Valentine Lunch".  We had heart sandwiches and red tomato soup.  Oh.. and the kids also got a "Valentine Breakfast" of heart shaped pancakes.  The twins thought that was pretty neat.

After lunch we went and played at Highland Park.  We were the only ones there and had a lot of fun playing in the grass and jumping over Leif.  Micah now loves T-ball.  And Savannah has become a little soccer player.  They are both such athletic people.

We then came home and gave one another valentines.  Savannah made me a valentine this year.  We were making them earlier in the week for Daddy, and she told me that she wanted to make one for me not Daddy.  Her reasoning was Micah was making one for Daddy.  She is always thinking about others.  For dinner we made pizza's  I wanted to make them in a heart but it didn't work out that way.  But in the end the pizzas tasted great, and we had a great day.

3 months old

I can't believe my little man in 3 months old.  It feels like yesterday that I found out we were pregnant.   Little Eli is growing up so fast.  He has just started to SMILE.  I love his smile.  It melts my heart.  He has also started "trying to communicate" with us.  I will talk to him and after a couple of minutes he will open his mouth and make the cutest "uh uh" noises.  He then smiles and opens his blue eyes so wide.

Eli is growing so fast.  He now weighs over 13 pounds.  He almost sleeps through the night.  He loves tummy time.  He loves holding up his head and is doing a great job. He loves to be held.  He loves to play on his butterfly.  He loves watching anyone and everything.  He is a very social guy.  And is now a social drinker.  When he drinks he will eat for a few seconds at a time and then stare at me.  Man he is a funny guy.  We love Eli Paul so much.

I am in love

I am in love with 3 little people.  They are each so loveable and make me smile all day long.

Mud Run 2014

I did my first ever MUD RUN.  And it was so so much fun.  Seriously it was the funnest race I have ever done... and I have done a lot of runs.  I really didn't know what to expect except for mud of course. There were only 100 runners in the competitive race so I was worried it wouldn't be that exciting.  MAN was I wrong.

Within the first 200 meters each participant had to jump in a pool of mud, then climb out and keep running.  I felt so heavy!!  We then ran through a forest of mud, crossed 2 small streams, climbed through a dozen mud holes and this was all in the first mile.  After the "mud holes" we ran into a field where there were tons of obstacles we had to run through tires, run over mulch piles, run over cars, climb over boulders, slide down tunnels, jump over tubs, and the list goes on.  I was so excited to see the finish line... but then I saw 2 obstacles on the finish line stretch.

I finished 4 place for all the girls with a time of 30 minutes.  I was bummed because 1-3 place got money. O well it truly was the funnest race ever.
